Enactment of bankruptcy reform legislation may see further delays as a result of continued debate over two key provisions that have already caused a minor rift between House and Senate Republicans. Chances of early enactment grew dimmer early this month when House Republicans spurned a request by Senate counterparts and industry lobbyists to accept the Senate-approved version of bankruptcy reform to avoid inevitably tough conference negotiations.
