Texas AG’s Opinion Dampens Manufactured Home Lending

Texas subprime lenders may balk at making future mobile or manufactured home loans in the wake of the state attorney general’s controversial interpretation of the "homestead" law. Texas Attorney General John Cornyn’s interpretation effectively makes it difficult for subprime lenders to obtain title insurance on mobile and manufactured homes located on homesteads.
