A New York mortgage bank accused of running a mortgage loan scam has agreed to pay $1.1 million in restitution to its victims, the attorney general's office and state banking regulators have announced. Anvil Mortgage Bank also lost its business license in a settlement with Attorney General Eliot Spitzer and the New York State Banking Department, which conducted parallel investigations into the lender's lending practices.
