Freddie Mac Launches a Bid To Boost Financial Literacy

Industry efforts at financial literacy, and an education-based solution to predatory lending, may get a boost from a new Freddie Mac program. Dubbed "CreditSmart," the program is an extension of the government-sponsored enterprise’s "Don’t Borrow Trouble" campaign. But while the aim of that initiative is to educate borrowers about the potential pitfalls of predatory lending, CreditSmart is designed to take a more comprehensive approach by teaching consumers how to get and keep good credit.
