Third-Party Originations Still Play Big Role

Loan correspondents and mortgage brokers continue to play a major role in the agency mortgage market, accounting for 42.9 percent of loans securitized by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Ginnie Mae in 2013, according to a new Inside Mortgage Trends analysis. After the November elections, how long will it take for a new Congress and White House to pass GSE reform legislation?
