Foreclosures on single-family homes are driving down the price of nearby homes, a new report by the nonprofit Woodstock Institute contends. “Conventional foreclosures – which are increasingly driven by the subprime lending market – have a statistically significant and financially significant effect on property values,” the Illinois-based advocacy group said in its report entitled “There Goes the Neighborhood.”
