Paving the way for the first hike in the VA mortgage limit in nearly eight years, the House this week approved a veterans’ benefits measure that includes an 18 percent increase in the agency’s home loan guaranty limit. The change, which raises the guaranty amount from $50,750 to $60,000, will translate into a new maximum VA loan amount – assuming no downpayment – of $240,000. This is up from the current VA loan ceiling of
