Tennessee. The state legislature has approved legislation extending the deadline for a joint committee to do a study on subprime lending for another year. Legislation passed last year provided for the creation of the committee to study and report on whether subprime lending provides a “significant service to the citizens of Tennessee,” and whether certain lending practices are harmful to consumers.
