Advocacy group Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now has filed a class action lawsuit against subprime mortgage lending giant Household International, accusing the finance company of a wide range of abusive lending practices. “The damage that Household’s loans have done to many families and communities is hard to overstate,” said Maude Hurd, ACORN’s national president, of the lawsuit filed last week in California.
