Fed Asked to Proceed With Loan Price Data Reporting

Twenty-six consumer and community groups are lobbying the Federal Reserve Board to stick to its original schedule for collecting loan pricing information under newly revised Home Mortgage Disclosure Act regulations. “This new reporting requirement is essential for fair lending and consumer protection purposes,” the coalition’s April 26 letter stated. “Thus, it is critical that data collection begins Jan. 1, 2003, as originally indicated.
