ACORN Willing to Help in Drafting ‘Best Practices’ Rule

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now is seeking talks with Treasury Department officials about the department’s proposal to develop uniform best practices to curb predatory lending. In a letter to Sheila Bair, Treasury assistant secretary for financial institutions, the national consumer advocacy group expressed interest in the proposal, which Bair mentioned during remarks at a symposium hosted by the Women in Housing and Finance in Washington, DC, last month.
