Conventional Lending to Blacks, Hispanics, Asians Rise in ’00, White and Native American Borrowers See their Share

Decline Conventional home purchase lending increased for some racial and ethnic groups and decreased for others, compared with 1999 lending, according to a summary of Home Mortgage Disclosure Act reports for 2000. The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council late last week released numbers showing more Hispanics, Asians, and African-American borrowers obtaining conventional mortgage loans than in the previous year.
