MBA Lobbying Power Faces Tough Test in Golden State

The strength of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America’s lobbying power in state capitals will be tested as it takes on anti-predatory lending legislation introduced in California last week. In an S.O.S. to the Washington, DC-based trade group, the California Mortgage Bankers Association asked for a concerted industry effort to help turn back S.B. 608, the Home Loan Protection Act.
