South Shore Bank of Chicago has officially changed its business name to ShoreBank, effective Dec. 18, 2000. As the nation’s oldest and largest community development bank, ShoreBank has made more than $600 million in loans to individuals, business, and nonprofit organizations since its founding in 1973. The bank’s mission and ownership structure remain the same. No branches will be closed. ShoreBank has more than $900 million in assets.
