Consumers Support Bills Consumer-protection legislation has been introduced in California limiting the kind of information that can be kept confidential in an out-of-court settlement. Two bills introduced by the heads of the California Senate and Assembly Judiciary committees would make certain information contained in secret out-of-court settlements and private confidentiality agreements between parties available to the public.
