Freddie Says ‘No’ to Arbitration Clauses on Securitized Subprime Mortgage Loans

Freddie Mac has announced plans to stop buying pools of securitized subprime mortgages that include mandatory arbitration clauses. But while supporters are touting the change as a major step forward for consumers, it doesn’t appear likely to have much impact on the MBS market.
