The Bush administration’s choice to be the next regulator for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac courted business deals from the GSEs while working in the private sector and once advised Freddie about its derivatives portfolio. Mark Brickell, a former lobbyist at JP Morgan Chase and now the head of an electronic derivatives trading operation, divulged this information in written testimony recently submitted to
