Rating Agencies Will Rate Deals With New York Loans

With a comprehensive predatory lending bill set to take effect in New York on April 1, all three of the rating agencies plan to continue rating transactions backed by loans made in the state. But issuers should be prepared to provide assurances that the loans backing their deals comply with the law, which will place tough new restrictions on high-cost loans.
