SEC Will Cover Disclosures, Conflict of Interest In Proposed Rule on Credit Rating Agencies

The Securities and Exchange Commission plans to restart a dormant rulemaking process that will explore conflict-of-interest issues in how the rating agencies interact with securities issuers. In a report to Congress mandated by last year’s Sarbanes Oxley Act, the SEC said it plans to issue a concept paper framing its approach to regulating national credit rating agencies in
