S&P Says It Doesn’t Require Additional Legal Criteria for Electronic Contracts Standard & Poor’s is not imposing any new or additional requirements on structured finance deals in which the underlying loan documentation includes electronic contracts and signatures. The E-Sign Act passed in 2000 and the electronic transaction legislation adopted by many states – known as the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act – recognize in general that electronic signatures and contracts have the same legal effect as
